Mullet’s Aluminum Awarded Contract for Central Command Memorial

Mullet’s Aluminum was recently awarded a contract to provide a fully welded, powder coat finish, aluminum railing and gate system for the new Centcom Memorial that is being built at MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa, FL.

“We manufacture “miles” of railing for commercial and condominium projects annually.” says Jay Coblentz, Director of Sales for Mullet’s Aluminum. “However, this project has special significance and we are very honored to have been selected.”

The memorial will be elliptical in shape, and a structure containing the globe’s depiction of USCENTCOM’s area of responsibility will serve as the centerpiece. A light system installed below the AOR depiction will reflect the boundaries of the 25 countries that make up USCENTCOM’s AOR. Construction plans call for an ascending wall in the shape of a quarter-circle behind the centerpiece. This wall, starting at a height of approximately three feet and increasing to an apex height of eight feet, will contain the USCENTCOM seal and the words, “To honor the men and women of the United States Central Command who served the cause of peace and freedom in the Central Region.”

This quarter wall will form the front of a podium and stage for command ceremonies and special events. In colors of desert brown, the entire memorial will be encircled by a wall capped with granite. A fountain will be added to an existing retention pond near the site to compliment the memorial. The architectural design and plans are by the renowned Architect C. Randolph Wedding of Wedding + Stephenson Architects, Inc.

Mullet’s Aluminum Products, Inc. has been approved as a Participating Independent Contractor in Florida Power & Lights Business Window Treatment (window replacement) / Business Building Envelope Program (BBE).

The objective of FPL’s Business Building Envelope Program, (BBE) is to reduce current and future electrical demand and energy usage from air-conditioning (A/C) equipment, during the summer peak hours, through the installation of qualifying energy-efficient building envelope measures.

Under FPL’s Business Window Treatment (window replacement) program, commercial FPL customers are provided a financial incentive based on replacing existing windows that face west, southwest or northwest with new, high-efficiency windows determined by Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), under approved rating, certification, and labeling procedures of the NFRC.

contractor for the Department of Financial Services Hurricane Mitigation Home
Retrofit Program.

The Legislature established the program last year to help Floridians identify how they
can strengthen their homes against hurricanes to reduce damage. The program offers

homeowners and matching grants up to $5,000 for specific home improvements
